Users can register to Evolution via multiple different routes. Please refer to “How do tutors/co-ordinators arrange access for their users?” for more information.

1. If a user has signed up to Evolution through a self-registration form or has been given an username and password from their tutor/co-ordinator, use the following link to login to Evolution: https://server.simventure.co.uk/SimVenture

2. If a user has signed up to Evolution through a Single Sign-on (SSO) self-registration form, use the following link to login to Evolution: https://server.simventure.co.uk/SimVenture and select “Sign In with Microsoft”.

Tutors/co-ordinators are given free licences to perform their administration functions by their SimVenture contact once the purchase process is complete.

Tutors can access Evolution through 2 different routes; both provided by their SimVenture contact:

1. Tutors/co-ordinators are sent an automated username and password by email which allows them to immediately sign in and start using the simulation/managing their user licenses.

2. Tutors/co-ordinators can sign up and log in using Single Sign-on (SSO) through a registration form sent by email via their SimVenture contact. This enables them to self-register online using their existing institution email details through Sign In with Microsoft.

Users can access Evolution through 3 different routes; all sent via their tutor/co-ordinator:

1. Users are sent a standard registration form by email, via their tutor/co-ordinator. This enables them to self-register online, giving their name and email details, and creating a username and password of their choice.

2. Users can sign up and log in using Single Sign-on (SSO) through a registration form sent by email, via their tutor/co-ordinator. This enables them to self-register online using their existing institution email details through Sign In with Microsoft.

3. Users are sent an automated username and password by email, via their tutor/co-ordinator. Users can immediately sign in using these details and start using the simulation straight away.

The Control Tower functionality provided for all tutors/co-ordinators allows monitoring and evaluation of group performance via their web browser, whatever their location. Detailed interaction with individuals, groups, or the entire cohort can be managed via the SimVenture messages facility within the software.

No, only user names and email addresses are held. Venture Simulations Ltd manage the data held in accordance with all current Data Protection legislation.

This is limited only by the number of current licences purchased by the organisation. Individual licences are issued for each user, for a given time period from 1 month to 1 year. Site-wide licences are also available.

SSO is now available. For more information, please contact comms@simventure.co.uk.

No, the URL is not customisable and there no plans to change this.

The server runs on the Windows Server operating system but the remainder of the information is proprietary and is commercially sensitive. The system is web-based and accessed completely through a web browser. Further information is not required by the user.

The online business simulation runs smoothly on nearly all browsers but the software does not perform well on Internet Explorer. However, Evolution works well on Microsoft Edge.

Evolution is not mobile-friendly because there is too much information on individual screens. At this point in time there are no plans to build a smartphone version of the application, but we are looking into support apps which will enhance the user experience.

Evolution allows users to work from remote locations on the same online company simultaneously. People can also use their preferred online collaboration tool (e.g. Zoom, Skype etc.) running in a separate browser tab alongside Evolution to communicate when working as a team.

There are no software dependencies. However, whilst Evolution is a browser-based product, the platform does not support Internet Explorer.

When a buyer orders Evolution licenses there are two ways in which accounts are provided to users. The first option is for the SimVenture team to assign anonymous account details that have been pre-set which means each user has a pre-allocated username and password (the password must then be changed by the user for security purposes). The second option involves users signing up for an account where they enter their own username and password. In both cases, users can enter a contact email address which is only used to provide password or username reminders. Both password and contact email address data are both encrypted within our database and are not normally made available to client staff or SimVenture administrators.

The only time members of the SimVenture team can potentially see a user’s email address is if the user makes a technical inquiry directly to us which results in a member of the SimVenture technical team having to look at their work on the Evolution platform. But if this happens (rare) we always ask user permission before doing any work.

The SimVenture team does not use personal data for any reason other than to provide users access to the system.
